8 days of performances, jam-packed with funny!
This year’s festival will feature 152 performances by more than 120 local, national and international sketch comedy groups. The Chicago SketchFest is the world’s largest sketch comedy festival, with hundreds of funny people in one convenient location – laughter guaranteed.
Visit http://www.chicagosketchfest.com/ to see the schedule and learn more. There’s even a live stream of all the action! Which, just a moment ago, included a close-up of Micah Philbrook eating something that looked like a granola bar! Where else you gonna find that, Internet?
Read more about the fest in The Reader HERE, and the Chicago Redye HERE, and then buy tickets HERE and go. Do it!!
I had a feeling Snooki (Ms. Polizzi if you’re literary) would be fun to draw, and I was right. She is fun!
I like to doodle while on the phone, and I’ve been on the phone all day the last two days…
The Jayhawks! They’re playing at The Vic.
The fucking Vic! In just a couple weeks. The Jayhawks are at The Vic on Thursday (perfect), January 27th.
There are few moments where I would immediately say “What? Yes! Here is my credit card. Do whatever you have to.” Getting to see The Jayhawks perform again is one of those moments.
(Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mandy!)
Gary Louris. Mark Olson.
Life is good.
Per Jam’s site, they’ll be performing tracks from Hollywood Town Hall. Click HERE and buy it, and I’ll see you there. Hurry! The Friday show on the 28th is already sold out, so grab tix for the 27th while you still can.
I’m sure they’ll also play at least a couple tracks from Tomorrow the Green Grass–one of my favorite albums of all time, which includes a couple of the best songs of all time.
I am so stoked.
They also have a new website that looks amazing. http://www.jayhawksofficial.com. It includes a lot more songs for you to sample, recent pics and more. I’m really excited to see their lineup is completely intact–not just Gary and Mark, but Marc Pearlman, Tim O’Regean & Karen Grotberg are in the mix. It really will be The Jayhawks I LOVED seeing in the 90′s every chance I got. Yes!
That’s what I’ll be doing tonight to ring in the new year–seeing Ike at HOB Chicago. I’m pretty psyched about it
If you’re not already down with the IRA, you can download gobs of his stuff for absolutely free at Amazon.com HERE, and, keeping with the holiday season of cheap cool yule, you can download Ike’s Christmas Star via the widget below for the low low price of your email address.
