Abbott & Costello Christmas Art

2011 January 24

I know we’re long past the holiday season, but I happened to come across this image while googling Abbott & Costello’s “Who’s On First”. (I played the comedic masterpiece for my kids for the first time this weekend.  I think they’ll appreciate it more upon repeated listening…)

As I’ve been drawing a ton lately, the design of these characters really caught my eye.  Really great stuff. Too good not to share, regardless of what the calendar says.

Better Together WIP

A while back, I wrote something about jumping on an early New Year’s resolution, one of doing something creative every day.  Believe it or not, I’ve been sticking with it pretty well.  I have oodles of doodles that I just haven’t had time to scan and share, but will eventually.

Here’s the latest project I’m chipping away at.  It’s a resurrected and cleaned up (much cleaner lines, etc) version of my PB&J design that I’d love to see available on a t-shirt via Threadless someday.

"Better Together" WIP

I added the bread for them to sit on.  I originally had some kind of pier in mind, but the bread makes more sense. And while I didn’t start out with this intention, in my dirty lil mind, the bread has taken on the look of a bed they are about spread out and jam on (bow chicka wow wow…).   I know.  Way to take something cute and…

Look, cute lil birds to it, cute lil bees do it, cute lil PB&J do it too.  Deliciously.

You can see the feedback and any changes to it as they happen HERE. I’ll let you know when/if I submit and when/if it’s up for voting.  You can bet on it!

Really Fat Duck-billed Platypus

I had some wicked doodler’s block last night.  That ever happens to you, just find a kid and ask them what to draw.  My girl one came up with “a really fat duck-billed platypus” like that.
