More Iron & Wine under the covers, Such Great Heights
Woke up this morning with The Postal Service’s Such Great Heights in my head. At one point, I would have bet, and lost, money on it being an Iron and Wine song and that Ben & Co. were the ones covering. Probably because my first taste of the track came with a handful of M&Ms.
Here’s what, after a long debate at the bar, I was learned is the original.
Now you’re thinking you’ve seen that in a commercial too. You’re right…kinda. When Apple introduced their use of Intel chips, they ripped it off. But, they had Jack Bauer do the VO, so it’s all good.
Such different versions of the same song. I really like both for different reasons. I haven’t been able to get “Little Bribes” out of my head by DCFC for days now…
Hey, are you going to Wilco? Asked you before but can’t remember your response. Probably the Scotch is erasing my memory…
Do you get into Spoon at all? They’re new “Got Nuffin” EP sounds like a blast of mid-1980s gritty perfection to me…
Sorry about the typo…I usually know the difference between they’re and their and there…
Hey Mike! Sam definitely puts his own mark on a tune when he gets his strings on it, that’s for sure. I have a post on here somewhere re Little Bribes… http://adamjoe.com/?p=172
Hoping to get to one of the shows. No tix yet, but things just have a way of working out when you need them to. Thanks for checking in!
