I’d Love Some Tuna (Another Second City 7 Day Short)
Here’s another one of my entries in Second City’s 7 Day Shorts. It’s from a few weeks ago when to get that night’s suggestion, one of the Faculty Improvisers (Kevin Reome, to name names) asked for a four-word sentence. “I’d love some tuna” was what he heard.
This short was written, shot and edited start to finish in about 4 hours on the Monday night it was due with the help of my amazing friend Allison (who really is allergic to almost everything under the sun) and Fishstick, my 1.5 year old betta.
Every Tuesday night in Chicago, the Second City Training Center’s faculty perform a fully improvised show based on a one or two (in this case, four) word suggestion from the audience. Then The Second City community has 7 days to create a short, two-minute film inspired by that suggestion. The shorts are screened in front of a live audience the following Tuesday night before the faculty’s next performance.
